As nurses are often the primary users of digital tools such as ePRO’s in hospitals, nurse engagement is critical to their efficacious routine use. Therefore, identifying factors that promote and decrease the use of these tools among nurses is a prerequisite to their successful implementation.
This whitepaper looks at the underlying factors affecting technology acceptance among public sector nurses in cancer care. It provides concrete tips on promoting engagement and decreasing hindrances and examines the solution provider’s role in the process. By understanding the different facets of technology acceptance clinics and hospitals are able to make more informed decisions when implementing new technologies.
The whitepaper is based on the author’s, Aleksi Taipale, M.Sc. (Tech.), Master’s Thesis on technology acceptance among public sector nurses in cancer care, accepted at the Aalto University School of Science in 2019.
