University Hospital of Zurich (USZ), one of the largest and most eminent teaching hospitals in Europe with approximately 1 500 physicians and scientists, selected Kaiku Health to automate patient-reported outcomes data collection from prostate and testicular cancer patients.
“We selected Kaiku Health because we wanted a user-friendly PRO-tool to better monitor and support our patients. The web application allows patients to report on their treatment related symptoms and quality of life in real time between clinical visits. The collection of PRO-data is expected to give a better insight in the quality of care as it provides us with more comprehensive information on the patient’s experience. We have currently 400 patients using Kaiku Health, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration”, said Dr. Ulrike Sandner, Head of Quality Management and Team Leader, Comprehensive Cancer Center Zurich.
Kaiku Health is a digital platform for monitoring patient-reported outcomes. Its unique algorithms screen symptoms, alert care team and trigger personalized instructions for patients. Hospitals and clinics are using the platform to better monitor their patients, reducing manual work and allowing prioritization of clinical actions. This along with the capture and analysis of real-world data paves way for more personalized and effective care of each patient.
The University Hospital of Zurich (USZ) is one of five university hospitals in Switzerland, providing a wide range of leading-edge medical services and treatments. Each year around 42 000 inpatients are treated at the hospital, and close to 600 000 patients visit one of their 43 departments and institutes.
