Kaiku Health was awarded for The Best User Experience Design at the Upgraded Life Festival 2017, Nordic’s biggest health startup and innovations event. The competition was organized by Tieto and InVision. They were looking for a digital application with the best user experience, and Kaiku Health stood out with its’ empathetic and positive experience.
The timing of the award was perfect, as the interface for patients has just been renewed. The new version is already implemented at first customers and it will be taken into use at all Kaiku Health clinics during the spring 2017. Emil Virkki, the UX Designer of Kaiku Health, tells more about the new design:
“The user can do the same things as before but with a trimmed layout: It’s very clear and highlights the relevant information in an optimal way. Our oldest user is 91 years old, so simplicity is everything,” Emil says.
“In addition, we have paid special attention to the patient language. This was also thanked by the jury of the competition. Our new UX is fast and easy to use, and it is great to use on any mobile device.”
“Supporting the care team’s work is also vital for the patient experience. Kaiku Health must be an efficient tool and easy-to-use for the nursing staff as well. We are now working on an intelligent alert system that helps the care team to focus on those patients who need to be paid attention the most.”
“Winning this award means that we have done things right – now we continue to make Kaiku Health even better. It’s really amazing to get this kind of acknowledgement for our work.”
