Kaiku Health has achieved Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology 2015 Edition Health IT certification in the United States.
The stamp of approval designates that Kaiku Health delivers the required functionality in support of enabling eligible providers and hospitals in the US to meet the requirements of various regulatory programs that involve the use of certified electronic health records technology. This includes Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) Medicare Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
“Developing digital health interventions to help care teams and improve the quality of life for cancer patients is at the core of what we do at Kaiku Health. The ONC Health IT Certification further validates this work and makes it possible for our customers in the US to participate in several programs such as MIPS”, says Henri Virtanen, co-founder, CPO, and Deputy General Manager at Kaiku Health. “Our platform provides care teams with several tools including a set of oncology-specific patient portal features. Combined with health information capture through patient-reported outcomes and secure messaging, patients are provided timely access to view, download, and transmit their records.”
To earn the certification, Kaiku Health was tested to be in accordance with applicable standards and certification criteria put forth by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
Meeting specific needs of healthcare organizations for federal requirements of initiatives, oncology providers in the US can use Kaiku Health to promote interoperability for MIPS as well as other programs under Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act. When paired with other software solutions, Kaiku Health can also help practices meet the Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT) requirements under the RO Model.
